The story goes that the wine was called 'Barbera', known as 'vinum Berberis', because of the juice which is red, with a cherry flavor that is sour and astringent. The wine was for a long time considered too rustic to appeal to a large audience. The Barbera naturally has a fairly high acidity, something that many winemakers resolve through maturation and which nowadays produces beautiful quality wines.

Cantina Damilano from Piedmont is a prestigious winery that mainly produces Barolos. They have owned the most noble hill Cannubi in the Barolo region since 1935. We will not be putting the Barolos on the site for the time being given the price level, but we do come with 2 attractive wines.
