The fact that the rooster flies is therefore due to the Mistral. Beautiful light-footed wine based on Grenache and Syrah grape varieties. They wanted to do justice to the terroir here by creating a certain degree of fruitiness.

Price €15.95 per bottle in boxes of 6.

Below more about the winemaker and his background:

Côtes du Rhône.

This appellation is divided into a northern and southern part. The northern part lies against the steep slopes of the eastern banks of the Rhône, with the exception of Hermitage and Crozes-Hermitage, so it is favorable in terms of capturing the sun's heat.
The southern part is more influenced by the Mediterranean climate and produces very different wines than the northern part. The prevailing grape varieties are Syrah for red and Viognier for white. That is mainly for the north. The southern Châteauneuf-du-Pape may have no fewer than 15 grape varieties.

Domaine Galuval (Vin Fins Creatifs)

The domaine, located between Cairanne and Rasteau, has different terroirs, each with its own character. It produces healthy grapes mainly due to the Mistral which is dry, blows often and drives away moisture. After all, moisture is the main cause of diseases such as mildew. In more humid areas, roses are planted at the beginning of a row of vines and act as a kind of canary as in mining. The roses go through the hooves first. That is a warning, but the 'green harvest' is also very important. Many bunches are pruned at the beginning of August and leaves are removed so that there is less chance of moisture. Placing the sticks further apart is also a solution so that they have air.

All these measures are not necessary at Domaine Galuval because of the blessings of the Mistral. Gallus in Latin means rooster. Hence the name. And the domaine likes to repeat that it makes creative wines. And who wouldn't want to taste such a wine?
