Our selection is a Pinot Noir that has been in oak barrels for 12 months and is blessed with an appellation designation that is not so common: Appellation Bourgogne Côtes d'Or Controlée. The wine is very subtle and has scents of wood and fruit. Can be drunk now, but personally I would wait a while as the year 2019 is considered the best wine year in Burgundy since 1865. Sounds exaggerated, but this information comes from a site that advises on investing in wine.

Price per bottle € 24.50 and packed in boxes of 6

Below more about the winemaker and his background:

Domaine Bouzerau

The winery is located in Meursault and produces various 1er cru wines in Volnay and Pommard and white Meursault of course. The vineyards have been in the family for 10 generations and the current owner, after studying wine in Beaune, has gained experience in viticulture in America and Australia and applies the positive experiences to his own wines.

Burgundy

The prevailing grape variety is Pinot Noir for red, towards Tonnerre also some Cézare, and Chardonnay for white and also a fair amount of Aligoté, but Chardonnay is the supreme equerry.
The Cézare is quite limited, but no less interesting. Oh yes, and of course Gamay in Beaujolais.

The Pinot Noir grape looks a bit light and always has an acidity that never completely goes away and doesn't have to go away. Wine snobs believe that the wine should smell like the stable. My personal opinion is that there is something to be said for that, but some people think that the wine is spoiled, but that is not the case. But it requires perseverance, just like coriander: here too one finds two camps.

My advice regarding the stable air, if it gets in the way: just get on with it. My father always said in difficult situations: “If you get used to it, you can hang.”
