Below more about the winemaker and his background:
Domaine Roger Neveu
Based in Verdigny and winemakers since 1603. That says enough. He says about the taste: Dusty and complex characterize this Pouilly Fumé. Intense scent with notes of citrus, grassy notes and flint. Harmonious on the palate, intense with fine fruit and minerality. Perfect with light chicken dishes and fish dishes with fresh notes.
Loire Valley
As the Loire, first called Loir before flowing further with the Allier, progresses, it is the first wine region to immediately touch the Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé and that is of course an immediate hit. Small wine regions as they are also cost a pretty penny, but that is due to the specific subsoil and that is limestone sometimes mixed with flint and that gives it a special taste, partly because the grape develops slowly due to the fairly cool climate. Here it is the Sauvignon Blanc grape varieties, but further upstream it is also the Chenin Blanc and red varieties such as Gamay and Malbec and even Pinot Noir, but we don't actually know the Loire for that, at least I don't. The Melon de Bourgogne towards Nantes and of course the Muscadet.
